Questions & Answers

When can I come and for how long?

We run week long holidays and retreats. In a years time we will also start to run weekend retreats in the UK.

In the Winter we run ski holidays over the Peak Holiday Weeks.

In the Summer we run holidays and retreats in July/ August.

We are running a reduced program of holidays in 2011/2012 to accommodate Saskia’s sabbatical!

Please see the calendar for availability.

If I am coming alone can I have a room on my own?

It depends on the holiday! Our Grass Roots Ski Holiday is very communal and we allocate a separate dorm room to solo female and solo male guests.

In the summer in Samoens, we offer higher end accommodation and there will be a supplement for a single room. Please ask us.

Who will be in my group?

We welcome many solo travelers as well as couples, friends and families. We encourage guests interested in similar activities to come on the same week. One of the very special things about La Source is the amazing people who come on our holidays! We draw a really nice international crowd who often share an interest in personal and/or sustainable development. Many long term friends are made!

The groups vary in size. You will rarely be more than 10 per host and our hosts are the best of the best! Inspiring, unique, caring, laid back, energetic individuals who have all been touched by La Source, and take time out of their lives to work with us every year.

What is the accommodation like?

We work with low and high end accommodation providers depending on the holiday. We aim to give you the best value possible and our prices reflect the standard of the accommodation and seasonal fluctuations. The chalets are always on the sunny side of the valley and very well situated.

How far will we be from the ski lifts and village?

In the winter, we are 5 minutes from the ski lift and run 3 complimentary shuttles a day.

In the summer, in Sameons, there are stunning walks and bike rides from the door! The chalet is set back from from Samoens village in walking distance to playparks, lakes, white water rafting, horse riding, ropes courses, etc… All the well-being activities are hosted on-site.

Do you recommend hiring a car?

If you are coming alone, and don’t mind going with the flow, use our shuttles if they are on offer. If you like a lot of independence it is not a bad idea. If there are quite a few of you, or you have several children, it will be less expensive to drive.

What about alcohol and cigarettes?

On The Grass Roots Ski Holiday wine and beer are available at a reasonable cost.

During the summer, we provide house wine with dinner and have a selection of wine or beer available at a reasonable cost.

You can smoke outside.
