Getting to Samoens

‘La Source is environmentally aware and achingly hip!’ Ski & Snowboard Magazine

Travel in Awareness
An average of 100 million people visit the Alps every year and the effects are being felt. The alpine environment; fresh air, nature, beauty and healthy activities rejuvenate us.  They inspire us to live in balance and awareness, but the travel, ski lifts, and snow cannons take their toll! We encourage train travel and driving over in a full car.  If you have to fly, we recommend Easyjet and offer a group transfer on most holidays.

  • Train
  • If you are traveling on your own, train travel has ¼ less emissions than flying or driving. Head for Geneva Airport  Train Station and try to coordinate your arrival with our group transfer.  If you are in the UK, see SnowCarbon and check this link for your route finder.  If you miss our group transfer, you could get a private transfer (see Go Massif).
  • Car
  • If there are 3-4 of you, traveling by fuel efficient car, it is as green as the train. If you are coming from England try; Folkestone via the Eurotunnel, Dover via P&O Ferries or Portsmouth via Brittany ferries. If you are coming from Scotland, you can take the Rosyth-Zeebrugge ferry. Driving from Dover costs around £400 return including the ferry and takes around 10 hours.
  • Plane
  • Plane is the least eco way to travel. Easyjet uses modern relatively fuel efficient planes and makes it easy to carbon offset (Do it!) Fly to Geneva, 64 km’s from Samoens. We run a free group Geneva airport transfer for most of our holidays to minimize traffic to the resort. Please check the details with the holiday you book.

We use different venues in Samoens for our holidays. We will send details of how to find the right place when you book!
